Living quarters at Pacific Biological Laboratory at 800 Cannery Row, Monterey, Ca. Text on the back of the photograph reads, "Inside Lab. Chair made by Nan, Ed's wife. Bed made by Ed and Ed R jr. Bed also made with redwood & rope underneath. Mexican china. Ed R stopped smoking pipes, but rack stayed on the wall. turntable for record player was behind china. Had to pick up bowls & mat, pull back top (hinged). Turntable recessed into cabinet. At the end of this cabinet was the bed; low shelf was radio, then tuner. That's where amplipher was. Speakers over doorway. Until Bob Stevens came along & speakers in cornors. Paul Verbek put in record system for Ed R, original system. Turntable was on wall farthest from door, perpendicular to street cone that now has photos & posters. Photo taken by Ed R jr. about 1940." |
