Dear Patricia:
The “conservation meeting” at foothill college - really a general introductory meeting on all aspects of community planning - lasted until the afternoon was advanced. I tried twice to get you on the phone but evidently you were out. The friends I was with Hans and Lorraine Bakke (whom you’ve met but have no special reason to remember - at the mandolin concert) invited me to dinner - after a wine-tasting at the Tally-Ho restaurant a little beyond foothill college - so I went with them. When I returned to San Jose around midnight your house was dark so I judged that either you were out for the evening or had gone to bed, so I’m writing a note. Earlier in the week you thought I might be of use to you Sunday (10th) in packing, but this was when you thought you might be moving immediately. Whether you are or not, if I can be of help in any way, let me know. I have an invitation to visit a friend at S.F. and have dinner tomorrow evening but if you need me I’ll call and cancel it providing I canhear from you early enough. I’ll be home all of tomorrow till midafternoon, so give me a ring if you are in - the earlier the better. I wouldn’t feel justified in cancelling a dinner at mid afternoon but I could in the A.M. anyway phone me and let me know what cooks.
If the landlord at the house on the corner is going to be so restrictive of his renters, I wouldn’t take the apt. if you can find another, I’ll help you look for [?] if you call early enough. Our meeting was interesting with 700 or more persons present, I’ll tell you about it later. Sweet dreams and love - Carl.
