I’ll airmail the letter and application to Donau when I get them back from you.
Dear Patricia:
I went out to your mom’s this evening, took “lunch meats” for dinner and accomplished two things. I helped Connie complete the application for the job at Manzanita lodge and I helped your mom get over the disturbance cause by the visit today of “her” social service worker whose head ought to be thrust into a bucket of water three times and pulled out just twice!
I’ve written a letter to Mr. Donau to go with Connie’s application I did it in two copies -one the enclosed which I scribbled pretty fast - the other beginning on a department letterhead and better written. If you will have time to type it first thing in the morning, and will call me when it’s finished, I’ll send the typed letters with Connie’s application. If you’ll not have time to type it, call and let me know and I’ll send the longhand copy that I’ve started on the letterhead and write on only one side of the paper.
You can phone me tonight - I’ll be up till about 2:00 AM (or later) and I’ll get out of bed to answer the phone - remember that a call from you for any purpose has top priority with me any time of day or night. But if you feel you are too worn out to call me when you get in then call me when you first get up in the morning. As either time I’ll bring over letter heads and enough paper to do the letter. That’s better than folding them to go in an envelope. Also I’ll bring the envelope. Hope your concert at Easter Valley was the success it must have been. Love - Carl.
