Description |
BAYMEC (Bay Area Municipal Elections Committee) activists hold a "Stop LaRouche" banner in celebration of the defeat of Proposition 64. Included in this group are Arthur Morris III, David Treadwell, Wiggsy Sivertsen, Don Nelson and Ken Yeager. |
Note |
Proposition 64 proposed to return AIDS to the list of communicable diseases. Lyndon LaRouche and his supporters financed a relentless campaign, but the measure was defeated. In 1988, the same measure reappeared on the ballot under proposition 69, which also failed. See Ted Sahl, "From Community to Closet" (2002), p.157-160. |
