Written on sleeve holding photograph: "Leonard Matlovich; Benefit for Golden Gate Business Ass., Desperados, Campbell." Matlovich first gained notoriety in the mid 1970s by fighting to stay in the United States Air Force after coming coming out as gay. Leonard Matlovich was later an AIDS activist. See Ted Sahl, "From Community to Closet"; (2002), p. 127 and 226. |
