#1 Devi Prasad "Understanding The Crisis in India"
DEVI PRASAD is on a crash tour of this country to talk about the present ''state
of emergency" in India and its background. Devi worked with Mahatma Gandhi during
the Indian Independence movement in the 1940's and with Jayaprakash Narayan in the
Sarvodaya movement that followed after India won its independence. During the
Summer of 1974, Devi spent many months in India with many leaders of the large
opposition movement to Indira Gandhi, including Narayan, who has since been arrested and imprisoned along with 60,000 other political prisoners. In recent years
