Note |
The Scottish Rite Temple stands at the corner of North Third and St. James Streets. Designed by Carl Werner, the $400,000 temple was dedicated on May 8, 1925. It boasted an auditorium that could seat 1,400 and a kitchen that could feed 1,000. When the Scottish Rite moved to a new temple south of downtown, the building received a $6 million renovation and reopened in 1981 as the San Jose Athletic Club.
