View of the ruined Flood Mansion, which stood at 1965 Geary Street. This was the home of James Clair Flood, who made his fortune in mining. Two men and three women walk by the remains of the structure. The women are identified as Gladys and Violet Scott and Mary Ligon. |

Noted on verso of photograph that the portals to the mansion survived the devastation and in 1909 they were placed at Lloyd Lake in Golden Gate Park and were thereafter known as "Portals to the Past." Toned black and white photograph. Poor condition. |
