Description |
David Hobson was born in North Carolina in 1822. He came to California in 1850 as a prospector, did well and settled in San Jose in 1853. He and his brother, Jessie, established the first Quaker Society of Friends in San Jose in 1861. He married in 1866 and he and his wife, Mary, eventually had eleven children. The family farm was at Mabury Road and King Road. He died there in 1916. |
