Transcript | Rules and Regulations for the Pulgas Mountains and Jurisdicion the foremen laws for the cutting of wood will be as formerly until the Government is Settled and Established thos that are Lawyers will pursue than Labour acording to the customs Heretofore used no man will be alowed to be in the mountains without actual employmet neither Deserted cattle of nether?as without permission of the forse of the Camp any person or persons claiming residence in Des pute will present themselves to the Magistrates office in this Peublo all catle ?tes in the mountains will be made known to the fores of the camp to ? those that is without Farms your authorized to ? from in all cases and to Bring to Justice the Offenders any Hides Shiped at the franes qu? you are requested to pay attention to in the best maner you can to stop any Defraud on the publick and to vender out of all Liquors Landed at that plase or Bra? by landa cara? further more you have the liberty of putting in repair any pas for carting that may be concidered for the benefit for themselves Any disturbance that may arise between any individuals in said jurisdiction may be settled by the person that is Justice to the amount of fifty dollars and not over; the same may be settled by a jury of six impartial men if its a civil case any criminal can must be remited to this Office for examination I the Undersigned Justice of Peace doth herby aprove of the Election of Wm Trevitt in the Jurisdiction of the Red Woods as Justice of Peace for said Jurisdiction and doth desire him to observe the above Regulations given by me in this Pueblo de San Jose this 8th day of February 1847 John Burton J.P. copy of instructions to Justice of ?
